JUDGING RESULTS 2005


Final Results: September 1st, 2005

The Action/Cut Short Film Competition industry Jury Committees are
composed of working professionals within the motion picture world in
Los Angeles including directors, producers, writers, agents, and film
company executives.

The five judging parameters are focused on:
- Subject Originality 
- Content Realization 
- Visual Storytelling 
- Production Values
- Viewing Engagement of Work


The film industry association at Action/Cut is what separates this
competition from all others, and why we pride ourselves by offering
invaluable services inclusive of the prize awards to provide Hollywood
access with professional contacts and feedback, and to open career 
advisory doors to the winners. 


All winning entry materials will be retained by Action/Cut and made available for private showings to industry players, production companies, agents, and distributors.


The Juries have added additional Awards of Merit not previously announced and they are listed below.
They include BEST FOREIGN FILMS, SPECIAL JURY FILMS, and BEST YOUTH PRIZES.

Synopsis: Explores the turbulent, sometimes painful, and often humorous lives of one blue-collar family as they welcome
their third child into their chaotic world. Harold's attempts to provide for his growing family through crime are motivated by 
the best intentions, but ultimately the worst sort of tragedy hits as he tries to protect his family from a situation he has created.

Synopsis: After 9/11, most Americans grew more suspicious of outsiders and expressed a growing desire to close
our borders impacting on our traditional open door to welcome "the tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
This is a story of a Liberian refugee's inspiring journey against all odds.  After being tortured and narrowly escaping execution in
Liberia, Rosevelt makes his way to America with his two sons to build a new life for his family.  After two years of struggle and
sending money to his wife and daughter in Liberia, and after endless immigration obstacles, the family is reunited in Chicago,
where they are finally able to enjoy the prosperity and freedom that drew them, as a last hope...to America.

Synopsis: Medieval times...the story of the legend of King Arthur.


We are very proud of our four top Award Winners, 
the new Jury-added Award for Digital Filmmaking Excellence, 
and the additional Awards of Merit Winners granted by our industry Juries.

All additional winners will receive an Action/Cut Award Certificate and
a Gift Certificate to any Action/Cut Filmmaking Seminar they wish to attend.
